Convivy is an agentic software engineering lab founded by Jay Porter and Katie Mayfield.

Jay Porter

I came up as a software engineer and technical communicator, and later moved into technical management at Salesforce and Meta. I also owned and operated restaurants for about twelve years, leading teams of up to sixty people. I like helping people thrive at their jobs, and building tools that let that happen.

At Convivy we make useful things, including agentic engineering tools for making useful things. I lead the product creation and the design of the agentic development system that writes all of our code. Field Notes is where I write about what I learn while doing that.

Katie Mayfield

Katie is co-founder of Convivy. She has spent twenty years building people systems and management cultures across food, hospitality, and CPG — VP People at Fellow, VP People & Change at La Tourangelle, COO of 4505 Meats — and in 2023 founded Katie Mayfield People & Culture, where she provides fractional Chief People Officer services and builds leadership systems for operators. She holds an SPHR.
